Land Rover Ups the Luxury of New Models

The Land Rover vehicles sold here at the Lyon Waugh Auto Group already are luxurious in their own right, offering the sorts of interior comforts and performance numbers typically associated with high-end SUVs, but the higher-ups at Jaguar Land Rover never are satisfied by doing anything typical, which is why a few years ago they developed a new Special Operations unit designed to make Jaguar and Land Rover models more opulent than ever. Some new Range Rover models show just how luxurious these vehicles can be.

“If you look at what our competitors do, and if you look at the aftermarket, consumers always want more, that little bit extra,” said John Edwards, director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations in an interview with Fortune.

Late last month, the automaker showed this idea in practice by revealing a new jacked-up version of the 2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography, which is sure to be among the most lavish luxury cars in New England. Already stacked with a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of achieving upwards of 557 horsepower, the luxury SUV also comes with some borderline unbelievable creature comforts.

For example, not only do the chairs lay back as far as 40 degrees with 22 different adjustment settings, but they also come with heated headrests and footrests and an embedded massager meant to ape the experience of a hot stone massage. There also are huge 10-inch television screens for the rear seats, a built-in 4G WiFi hotspot, and even a mini refrigerator.

While all of the new and certified-pre-owned luxury models we sell are extravagant in their own right, this takes things to an exciting new level, and we can’t wait to start sharing those luxuries with our customers over the course of the year to come!
