BMW Reaches New Sales Heights

The most basic goal of auto dealerships is to sell as many cars as physically possible over the course of a given year, which means we must be doing our jobs quite well here at Lyon Waugh Auto Group. BMW is selling record numbers of vehicles in 2017 and remains on track to break the record for most autos sold in a singular calendar year.

In fact, BMW recently announced that the vehicle surpassed the two-million mark in terms of sales during the month of October, making it only the second time in the history of the automaker that it sold that many cars in a single year. Of course, BMW hit that number through nine of the year’s 12 months, meaning there’s still plenty of time to post the best year ever by toppling 2016’s record of 2,367,603 units.

There's an outside chance that the record could be broken by the end of November, but the old sales record almost certainly will be toppled by the end of the calendar year.

"Despite significant model changeovers and headwinds in some of our biggest markets," said Dr. Ian Robertson of BMW, "We have delivered over two million vehicles to customers in the first ten months of the year. Vehicles as wide-ranging as the BMW X1, the BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series and the BMW i3, to name just a few, have all contributed to that growth."
